As 2009 draws to a close, I would first like to thank the Board of Directors as well as members of our Association for not only your hard work, help, and more importantly your friendship. This past year saw many changes in our industry. Hopefully all for the betterment of our beloved Tennessee Walking Horses!
In this newsletter, you will find the application for the SHOW card for your horses as well as updated information from the Owners Association and the Breeders Association. We are working on finalizing the SWHBA Banquet hopefully to be held January 30, 2010. Mary Kirton and Dodi Speece are working on the location.
Congratulations to everyone on your 2009 show season and trail rides! We are planning on a few more horse shows in 2010. WHOA (Walking Horse Owners Association) as asked if we could put on two – 1 day shows in Texas!! These would be on the same line as the SWHBA play day show so no formal attire. The State Fair of Texas Horse Show will be combining with NTAHSA show. The show dates are tentatively set for the first part of October and will be a three day show.
May you all have a very Merry Christmas and New Year!

According to DNA research, today’s domestic horses trace back to at least 77 ancestral mares, but may have descended from a single stallion.
